Netflix offers a one-month trial offer at 99 cents - Geeko

Good news for those who would like to test the streaming platform. After removing its one-month trial offer last February, Netflix is almost backtracking by offering a 30-day trial for just 99 cents. A ridiculous amount that should convince some to test the streaming service.

Netflix regularly tests new prices and offers to attract new subscribers. Until recently, the American company had implemented a 7-day satisfied or refunded trial, replacing its one-month free offer.

Beneficial containment

During confinement, the number of platform subscribers exploded. In just six months, Netflix garnered more than 25.8 million new customers compared to just 12 million in the same period last year. However, since July, the progression of new subscribers has started to decrease, which could explain why the American firm is trying a new formula to convince the undecided to join the platform.

According to our colleagues from Numerama, some Internet users were offered trial offers at 3.99 euros for a month, but also at 0.05 centime for 30 days without explanation.

Finally, one could also imagine that this 99 cent trial offer is a way for Netflix to differentiate itself from Disney + which no longer offers a trial period at all since June.
