A woman was taken into custody on Saturday after the death of a couple in a fire on Friday evening in Le Havre, we learned from the prosecution on Sunday.
Arrested at two in the morning
"A woman was arrested Saturday at two o'clock in the morning by the police. Her custody measure was extended. We have to deplore two victims in this fire," said deputy prosecutor of Havre Cyrille Fournier.
52 firefighters and 26 devices mobilized against the fire
The fire was reported on Friday around 8 p.m. in a half-timbered building, a former hotel rehabilitated into apartments, rue du Maréchal Joffre in Le Havre, according to firefighters. Fifty-two firefighters and 26 devices were dispatched to the scene. Two police officers, a resident and a firefighter were slightly injured during the intervention which continued until Saturday morning. A man and a woman were found dead in the attic of the building. According to France Bleu Normandie , it is a 43-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman.
