Mr. A, a man in his 50s, accused of assaulting passengers who requested wearing masks on the subway, appeared in court today (28th) to receive an interrogation (warrant substantive examination) before arrest.

Mr. A, who arrived at the Seoul Southern District Court at around 10 am today, answered "I didn't know" to the reporter's question, "Did you not know if you should wear a mask?"

When asked what he wanted to say to the victim, he said, "I'm sorry."

He didn't say anything to questions such as "Do you admit the charges of assault" or "Why did you hit him?"

Whether or not to be arrested will be decided late this afternoon.

According to the police, Mr. A is accused of assaulting two passengers who asked him to wear a mask, etc., on the train passing near Dangsan Station on the Seoul Subway Line 2 at around 7:25 am on the 27th.

It is said that Mr. A choked the victim's throat and even hit his face with the slippers he was wearing.



Mr. A, who threw an umbrella in the train and ran and ran into a riot, was arrested as an active criminal by the police on the way.

It is said that Mr. A made a statement to the effect that he hit passengers because he was angry at the request to wear a mask during a police investigation.
