The prosecution has additionally redeemed 1 billion won for former President Chun Doo-hwan's illegal property.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office (Prosecutor Park Gwang-hyun) announced that it had collected an additional 1,011.51 million won on the 21st through a short sale of the forest in Anyang City, Gyeonggi-do under the name of the eldest daughter of the former president.

The remaining unpaid amount was 99.1 billion won, which fell below 100 billion won for the first time.

The court battle over the seizure of the former President's home in Yeonhui-dong was also finished, leaving only the court's judgment.

The Seoul High Court Criminal Division 1 (Judge Jung Joon-young, Song Young-seung, Deputy Judge Kang Sang-wook) closed the interrogation date by opening an examination date for the case of an objection to the proceedings of the trial requested by the former President.

However, the court decided to interrogate the auction of the former presidential family's Itaewon villa in Jung-gu, Seoul and the land in Osan, Gyeonggi-do, in consideration of the fact that the Supreme Court is considering administrative litigation.

Due to the nature of the case, we plan to individually notify both the prosecution and the former president as soon as a decision is made without setting a separate deadline.

A former president's lawyer said, "Justice must also be achieved in accordance with the procedures set by the law. If the law is enforced unfairly to individuals, the judicial order will collapse."

“The prosecution insisted that the property subject to additional collection is (the former president's) nominated property, but legally it is difficult to see it as nominated property."

In response, the prosecution said, "Regarding the real estate, the eldest son of the former president, Jae-guk, has expressed an opinion to the effect that'everyone in the family admits that it is a second-name property.' That year, the seizure is legal."

This case began when the former president's side protested and filed an objection when the house in Yeonhui-dong was handed over to public sale at the request of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office in 2018.

The former president has argued that it is against the law to enforce a surcharge of 220.5 billion won imposed by the Supreme Court on the property of his wife, Lee Soon-ja.

The house in Yeonhui-dong, consisting of four lots of land and two buildings, was registered as an auction item at the request of the prosecutors' office, but the auction was checked several times.
