Two suspects, in their twenties and thirties were arrested shortly after, after a police chase against a vehicle that had stormed from the scene of the shooting, another police source said. The two men were stopped near the stationary vehicle. In the trunk, weapons were found, according to the same source. The regional judicial police service (SRPJ) in Toulouse was responsible for the investigation.

On August 10, a man was killed and two injured in a shooting "with a large caliber" in the same neighborhood, which occurred shortly before 11:00 pm near a metro station. The man killed, aged 29, was not known to the police, unlike the two injured, known for drug cases and already convicted.
