All annual doctors across the country who oppose the government's medical policy went on strike indefinitely. We are concerned about disruption in patient care and surgery from this week. The government has urged the medical community to stop the strike as it is a severe period due to coronavirus.

Doctors majoring in university hospitals come forward one by one and take off their doctor gowns.

It means that they will join the strike by criticizing the government's medical policy that excludes voices from the field.

[Seoul National University Hospital Specialist Council: If our young doctors weren't afraid, would they come out of the hospital? Please immediately stop pushing ahead with the critical policies that have the future of health care in Korea.]

The strike of majors, which started with interns and majors in their fourth year, has expanded to all annuals today (23rd).

The strike participation rate compiled by the Council of Majors is also close to 95%.

There were no major disruptions to the operation of emergency rooms and intensive care units by hospitals employing alternative personnel, but the problem is in the future.

One university hospital in Seoul decided to operate with a 30% reduction in operating rooms from tomorrow due to a lack of manpower, and another hospital is not receiving hospitalization for intensive internal medicine through the emergency room due to the aftermath of a strike due to a shortage of beds.

Despite this situation, the position of the medical community and the government is seldom narrowing.

While the medical association proposed urgent dialogue to the Prime Minister and the ruling party politics, saying that dialogue with the government is limited, the government repeatedly requested to return to the medical field first in consideration of the corona 19 crisis situation.

[Yoon Tae-ho/Ministry of Health and Welfare Public Health Policy Officer: We will share our awareness of the severe situation of Corona 19, discuss all issues later, and ask once again to return to the treatment site.]

Prime Minister Jeong Se-gyun also, I plan to go to an emergency interview with representatives of my major tonight and ask for an end to the strike.

From the 26th, a second strike at the medical association level is expected. The government's policy is to issue a'business commencement order' if the difference in position is not narrowed.
