As a result of the ban of “Fortnite” from the App Store, the iPhones still owning the game are starting to become rare items - and therefore precious. On eBay, many smartphones on which the game was already installed have been put up for sale at a premium, Presse-Citron reports  .

By typing the keywords "iPhone Fortnite installed", the e-commerce platform brings up many offers for iPhone already having the video game. While some offers remain reasonable in terms of price, others are approaching $ 10,000. Another ad offers an iPhone 11 for $ 2,999.

A 30% commission on app stores

In France too, sellers are surfing the woes of video games. An iPhone SE 2020 with “Fortnite” is offered at 1,900 euros and an iPhone 11 Pro Max at 3,000 euros. The bet is daring, because even if the game is no longer present on the Apple and Google application stores, the game is still available on other platforms. It is even still downloadable on Android without going through the Google Play Store.

On August 13, the two tech giants had removed “Fortnite” from their platform. Epic Games had sought to bypass the payment system put in place by Google and Apple, allowing them to touch 30% of all player transactions.
