As the second-stage quarantine reinforcement measures for social distancing will be expanded across the country from tomorrow (23rd), all beaches nationwide will be urgently closed from 12:00 pm on the 22nd.

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries announced that 108 beaches currently operating nationwide, including Chungnam, Gangwon, and Jeju, will close urgently from midnight today, as the second stage of distancing the country is applied due to the re-proliferation of Corona 19.

This is a measure to reinforce quarantine by stopping the operation of shower and dressing facilities and rental of parasols and water play equipment, which may cause contact with other people at the beach.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries plans to carry out safety and quarantine management at the same level as before, as the public visit itself is not prohibited even if the beach is closed.

Of the 251 beaches nationwide that opened this year, 143 are already closed.

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries announced that the exhibition and viewing facilities in the marine and fishery sector will also be temporarily closed from 12:00 tonight.

Accordingly, the National Maritime Science Museum and the National Lighthouse Museum in Gyeongbuk, and the Securium of the National Marine Biological Resources Center in Chungnam were temporarily closed.

Busan has been closing its own National Maritime Museum and National Fisheries Science Museum from the 21st.
