“The Minor Planet Center has today confirmed that the object I discovered is a comet of the solar system. The comet was discovered by me on August 17, 2020, ”Borisov said.
He noted that the comet is located in the constellation Auriga and will be clearly visible in the fall through a telescope.
In August 2019, Borisov was the first in the world to discover an interstellar comet.
