The Daegu Bible Police Department urgently arrested A, a man in his 60s, on charges of setting fire (murder and arson) after stabbing the restaurant owner with a weapon on the 18th.

Mr. A is accused of setting fire after stabbing a female owner B (54) several times with a weapon in the cheeks and neck of a female owner at a restaurant on the first floor of a four-story shopping building in Seongdang-dong, Dalseo-gu, around 6:55 pm yesterday.

A, who ran away in a car after the crime, was captured by the police in Heungdeok-gu, Cheongju-si, Chungbuk.

At the time of the fire, a citizen passing by on a motorcycle reported to the 119 control room, "There is a lot of smoke in the building."

The fire was extinguished in 13 minutes after burning 40 square meters and furniture inside the restaurant, causing an estimated 3,720,000 won damage to the fire department.

As there were few people in the building, one was rescued by the fire department, and the other was found to have evacuated itself.

One hour before the fire broke out, a report was filed in the 112 control room stating that "the sound of men and women fighting in the restaurant can be heard."

When the police first called, Mr. A had already run away, and Mr. B stated that "Mr. A threatened with a knife on a cutting board."

A police official said, "I recommended Mr. B to go home and searched the area for about 30 minutes, but he could not find Mr. A, so he returned after reporting a special threat incident to the competent police station."

Police believe that Mr. A later reappeared in the restaurant and set fire to murder victim B and destroy evidence on the scene.

The police are planning to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A.
