There are many people who have been affected by rain this summer, but a report has been reported that sewage water flows back every year in the rainy season due to structural problems in an apartment in the new city of Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do. While the damage to residents is recurring, related organizations are only fighting each other for responsibility.

Reporter Lee Hyun-jung covered it.

An apartment in the new town of Okgil, Bucheon, Gyeonggi-do.

It has been less than 3 years since moving in, but the fourth sewage has already flowed back this year.

On rainy days, the sewage that has to go to the nearby sewage treatment plant is clogged up in the sewer pipe. Last summer, the sewage from the apartment management office and gym, and this year from the street in front of the library turned into a sea of water.

Since it has a strong odor, it is difficult to perform repair work such as cleaning and replacing facilities.

[Myeong Seong-tae/Representative of apartment tenant: If you hear only loud rain, you can't sleep well, so be sure to check. Whether it is reflux or not... In preparation for the torrential downpour, some countermeasures have to be taken, but the local government does not take any action.]

Residents requested countermeasures . .

[LH Corporation official: (Apartment) Only community facilities are built low. In the event of heavy rain or a large amount of wastewater, it is inevitable that the wastewater flows into the complex. (Contractor) (I think) a forced sewage treatment facility (pump) should have been installed.]

On the other hand, the contractor confronts, "As the Okgil District and the nearby Hangdong District are built, there is a limit to the existing sewage pipes, but the problem is that LH did not make enough sewage pipes when creating the district."

It is a position that LH asked to create a separate sewage pipe during the construction of the Okgil district in Bucheon-si, but to install a sewage pipe late, it will take a lot of time as it requires a new procedure for licensing and compensation for private land.

Residents are asking the construction company, LH, and Bucheon city to first identify the cause of sewage backflow and then take responsibility and come up with a solution as soon as possible.
