Winamax tweet deemed "homophobic" sparks outrage on the web

The victory of Olympique de Lyon against Manchester City on Saturday night in the Champions League gave rise to scenes of jubilation and reactions of joy, especially on social networks. The community manager of Winamax let himself be carried away by this euphoria by posting on Twitter a message which aroused many criticisms. On a montage of a photo of the PNL group, the CM of the online sports betting site replaced the heads of the two artists with the logos of PSG and OL, with the caption "We take Europe, we the two ass fuck ”. A message referring to a title of the rap group, "Celsius", which begins with these words: "We take the rap, we fuck two".

Many Internet users have denounced a "homophobic" insult on social networks. The tweet even made the Minister of Sports react. "Seriously Winamax, where do you think you are?" Your tweet is vomiting. Twitter, do you mind passing this kind of message through? Roxana Maracineanu tweeted.

Marlène Schiappa also denounced the homophobic nature of the tweet, recalling that the verb used by the community manager is a homophobic insult. “We can, of course, just repeat what we have always heard. Despite the indignant reactions of many Internet users, the community manager of Winamax does not seem to have been affected by the controversy, judging by his response to one of the Internet users who questioned him.
