As forecasts often missed during this rainy season, it was revealed that the Meteorological Agency, which is being criticized for being'misleading', did not make important forecasts in time. The U.S. and Japan predicted the typhoon'Rose' that landed in Korea before the typhoon, but our Meteorological Agency began to provide forecasts only two hours after the typhoon occurred.

the 10th, the typhoon'Rose' developed rain clouds and sprayed over 100mm of rain in some areas.

It occurred at the dawn of the 9th and landed in Korea in just one day.

It is very important to quickly forecast typhoons that cause great damage.

As climate change increases the latitude and movement speed of typhoons, forecasting speed is more important.

However, the Meteorological Agency started forecasting two hours after the occurrence of the typhoon rose.

We have been making forecasts since 2015 in the pre-typhoon stage, the'tropical low pressure zone', but this time it was not.

The tropical low pressure zone is also called the'seed of the typhoon'. Among the eddy rain clouds generated in the tropical sea, when strong winds of 60 km or more per hour are accompanied, it is called a tropical low pressure zone.

In order to secure enough time to respond to typhoons, forecasts are needed from the tropical low pressure stage.

The Meteorological Administration clarified the reason why typhoon rose was not forecast from the tropical low pressure zone stage, saying, "The wind speed at the center of the tropical low pressure zone did not meet the forecasting standard when it exceeded 50 km/h."

However, the judgment of the overseas meteorological authorities was different.

The Japan Meteorological Agency started forecasting the route, saying that the tropical low pressure zone occurred a day before the typhoon.

The United States also gave detailed prospects that the tropical low pressure zone will develop at the level of typhoons on the same day and land in the Yeongnam region of Korea.

Korea Meteorological Administration was the latest to announce the news of a typhoon that came to Korea.
