In June of last year, the prosecution prosecuted former lawmaker Son Hye-won and applied two charges of violating the Anti-Corruption Act and the Real Name Act.

In May and September 2017, Mokpo City was charged with purchasing real estate under the name of an acquaintance after receiving the data of the urban regeneration project in Mokpo City, and was also charged with buying the real estate under the second name. Sentenced.

In order to guarantee the right to defend, there was no legal arrest.

The court explained the reason for the sentence, saying, "The lawmakers, who must possess strict morality and integrity, used the secrets they had learned during work to anticipate market price increases and acquired real estate, which greatly undermined the trust of public officials."

It was also evaluated as "a major corruption that must be corrected in our society, which must create an intact public service society."

However, since the data received by former Congressman Son cannot be viewed as a secret after the announcement by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in December 2017, the court judged that the purchase of real estate was not guilty.

Former Congressman

Son , who appeared in the court brightly before the sentence, said, [Former Congressman Son Hye-won: (Please tell me just before the results of the first trial sentence.)… .]

After the sentence, I left the court with a firm expression.

Rep. Sohn expressed his intention to appeal through social media, saying, "It is difficult to understand the conviction. I will do my best to inform the substantive truth."
