The twin sisters of Sookmyung Girls' High School who were handed over to trial for taking the test after seeing the test answers leaked by their father, the head of the school affairs, were sentenced to probation in prison at the first trial.

The Seoul Central District Court today (12th) convicted the two twin sisters of Sookmyung Girls' High School's head of school affairs director Hyun Mo's daughter for obstruction, and sentenced the sisters to 1 year and 6 months in prison and 3 years probation. I also ordered 240 hours of community service.

The twin sisters were handed over to trial on suspicion of interfering with the school's grade evaluation by taking the test after seeing the answers that their father had stolen five times, from the final exam in the first semester of 2017 when they were in the first year of Sookmyung Girls' High School to the final exam in the first semester of the following year.

The judge pointed out that "this case deprived Sookmyung Girls' High School students of fair competition opportunities and broke public confidence in public education, so the defendants are not regretful of the crime, even though the crime is not good."

However, the court explained the background of the sentence, saying, "My father was sentenced to a heavy sentence of 3 years and was serving in prison, and the defendants were also expelled from school for this case."

First, his father, Hyun, who was handed over to trial, is serving three years in prison in the Supreme Court.
