In August 2014, 50-year-old Lee Mo, driving a van near the Cheonan Interchange on the Gyeongbu Expressway, hit a truck parked on the shoulder.

The seven-month-pregnant Cambodian wife who was accompanied by the accident was killed, and it was revealed that she had purchased 25 insurances with death insurance of 9.5 billion won in the future, and was charged with murder and fraud.

In the first and second trials, the court decisions were mixed.

In the first trial, the defendant was not guilty of not being able to prove the crime, and the second trial was sentenced to life imprisonment for the fact that he purchased an additional 3 billion won in insurance just before the accident.

However, the Supreme Court returned the case to the Daejeon High Court with innocence, saying that the motive for the crime was not clear.

In the case of repatriation for destruction, which lasted for more than three years, the 6th Division of the Daejeon High Court considered Mr. Lee not guilty of the murder charge, and instead was sentenced to two years in imprisonment and imprisoned under the Special Act on Traffic Accident Handling.

The court judged that the charges of fraudulent insurance claims were not guilty, saying that the motive for the crime was unclear, such as having purchased a lot of insurance not only for the wife but also for the child.

Mr. Lee's insurance payment to his wife is worth 9.5 billion won, and the total delayed interest so far exceeds 10 billion won.
