Let's connect to Tongyeong, where the typhoon is expected to land.

Reporter Ahn Hee-jae, how is the situation in Tongyeong right now?

<Reporter>

I have been here at Dongho Port in Tongyeong since the dawn of today (10th), and the weather continues to stop when it rains hard.

It's been raining like this for a while now. As you get closer to the typhoon's sphere of influence, you can feel the wind getting stronger.

At the pier, you can see dozens of fishing boats securely fixed in preparation for typhoons.

The 5th Typhoon Rose, which is rapidly traveling north, is expected to land near Tongyeong at around 3 pm and pass Pohang to the East Sea at around 6 pm.

When landing in the Gyeongnam region, the central air pressure seems to be maintained around 1,000 hectopascals. The maximum wind speed reaches 72 km/h and 20 m/s.

Reporter Ahn Hee-jae is worried about additional damage caused by typhoons following heavy rain.

<Reporter>

Yes, I am particularly concerned about damage to Gyeongnam, Busan, and Ulsan, which are included in the typhoon risk class.

The city of Tongyeong recommends that coastal residents refrain from going out, and from the morning, it is intensively inspecting about 10 areas, including areas vulnerable to flooding.

Many tourists visit the area during the holiday season, and the cable car heading to the summit of Mt. Mireuk has been suspended due to bad weather, and some tourist facilities such as cruise ships have also been suspended.

The Coast Guard also announced that it has strengthened patrols and took all ships that went to the sea to return to port.

Other areas in Gyeongsangnam-do and the city of Busan also demanded preparation for damage from typhoons such as landslides and collapse of buildings as the ground has weakened due to the recent heavy rain.
