▲ Islamic religious events attended by corona confirmers

When six Uzbekistan residents in Cheongju were diagnosed with corona19, Eumseong, Jincheon, and Jeungpyeong counties in Chungbuk are tense.

It is because of the concern that foreign workers in the region also attended the religious events attended by the confirmers, and that they were becoming the corona19 spreading chain.

According to Chungbuk Province and local governments on the 5th, 341 Muslims, including 5 corona19 confirmed persons, attended Islamic religious events in Cheongju on the 31st of last month.

Participants were found to include 14 foreign workers working in Jeungpyeong, 4 in Jincheon, and 3 in Eumseong.

The county conducts a sample test on these individuals to contain them and to check if there are more participants.

The test results are due out this night.

Each county, along with a survey of Muslim foreigners, asked foreign employers to comply with the quarantine rules.

Eumseong-gun ordered restrictions on Islamic religious facilities in Geumwang-eup.

Eumseong-gun confirmed that this religious facility, which had more than 500 registered members, gathered and worshiped at 20 to 30 people at a time, but stopped meetings in May when the Corona 19 spread.

Jincheon-gun also stopped operating Islamic religious facilities in Jincheon-eup.

It is said that this place, with more than 60 members, worshiped 3-4 Muslims at once.

It was found that there was no Islamic religious facility in Jeungpyeong.

There are about 16,000 foreign workers in Eumseong, Jincheon, and Jeungpyeong, the largest industrial base in the central region.

There are more than 10,000 people in Eumseong, which account for 10% of the total population, and there are about 6,000 and 800 in Jincheon and Jeungpyeong respectively.

This is based on registered foreigners, so the number of illegal residents is estimated to be much higher.

Foreign workers are usually vulnerable to quarantine because they live together in dormitories.

This is why the military is very nervous about the infection of the Muslim population in Cheongju.

Each county requested that participants of the Cheongju Islamic religious event promptly go to the public health center for inspection.

A spokesman for Eumseong-gun said, "I'm trying to figure out if there are more attendees at the Cheongju religious event. I will also check the status of foreign workers at this opportunity."
