2019 National Sports Competition opening ceremony. One man enters with other players smiling brightly.

Mr. A, a coach of a water sports team from a wide area group, who watched this live broadcast on TV, was amazed.

It was because he was the same man who molested and assaulted himself in 2017 when he was active in a water sports club.

[Mr. B/Force victim: I was accidentally watching the opening ceremony of the national competition, but I was on TV. I thought I saw it wrong. This is not, it's not.]

Mr. A has been sentenced to six months in prison and two years of probation by the Supreme Court, and a two-year order to ban employment in institutions related to children and youth.

Victim B protested to the Organizing Committee and the Athletic Association, and Mr. A was immediately suspended from participating in the tournament.

The reason A was able to participate in the National Sports Competition was that there was a gap in the athletic verification process.

Each attempted team of athletes participating in the national competition chooses among the leaders registered in the Sports Support Portal of the Korean Sports Association when selecting coaches, etc., but there was no criminal history verification procedure when registering as a leader.

The Korea Sports Association admits that it cannot help but acknowledge the problem.

[Korea Sports Association officials: When registering leaders (inquiry of criminal history), the possibility of leaders not acting in our system and acting in the shade is high. .]

Victim B was accused of defamation by Mr. A because he publicly announced the sexual harassment ruling.

The victim's wounds are deepening due to the institutional loopholes of the Korea Sports Council that cannot prevent sex offenders from participating in the competition.
