Today (2nd), at 5 pm, 29-year-old Choi Moe, who was playing in the water at the Damteo Valley in Sangno-ri, Dongsong-eup, Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do, was swept away by the rain.
Choi was found dead by other surfers playing in the water downstream.
Police are investigating the exact nature of the incident against witnesses and others.
According to the fire department, 61 people were rescued after being isolated from torrents in Cheorwon, Jeongseon, Eternity, Wonju valley and campsite.
