Spotify is enriched with a new feature expected by many users. The latest update to the music streaming service allows music to be streamed to a Chromecast device through a PC, Mac or Spotify desktop apps, the Frandroid site reported on Tuesday.

Previously, it was possible to control a stream launched from the Android and iOS app (via Spotify Connect), but not from the web version of the platform. From now on, all applications will allow music streams to be streamed on speakers or a television with Chromecast.

Available devices displayed

Once on the desktop application and logged into your account, all you have to do is click on the “Available devices” option located in the lower right corner of the screen. The list of Google Cast compatible devices is then displayed. All you have to do is choose your device and launch your playlist.

Another new Spotify feature: shared listening. It is however reserved for Premium members. Thanks to this service, five users can listen to the same playlist at the same time, whether they are in the same place or thousands of kilometers away, explains 01Net . The function is currently in beta on the Android and iOS applications.
