Recently, a flooding damage occurred in a residential area around the construction site of an apartment in Buk-gu, Gwangju, Jangmatbi.

Today (29th), in the morning, the residential area of Jungheung 3-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, filled with water near the knee due to heavy rain.

From yesterday to 2 pm today, the cumulative precipitation of 152.8 mm was recorded, and at the time of the morning, up to 53.5 mm of rain per hour poured rain, and water began to fill up.

Residents were convinced that when the rainwater from the construction site flowed into the inside of a house or a shopping mall like a river, the victims of flooding again suffered.

This is where the flooding has already occurred twice on the 10th and 13th.

At the construction site of the surrounding apartment complex, the rainwater pipes were connected to a smaller place than before, and the drainage pump failure was also overlapped, causing the flooding of houses and malls and damaging household goods.

The Buk-gu Office and the construction company installed additional rainwater pipes and arranged four drainage pumps after the flooding damage, but the rainy rains again caused the residents to lose their words.

An official from Buk-gu Office in Gwangju said, "We have reinforced the facility after the last flooding damage, but flooding has occurred due to the large amount of rain at a time, exceeding the processing capacity."

Meanwhile, other residential neighborhoods adjacent to the apartment construction site were also likely to be flooded this morning.

In the process of pumping rainwater from the interior of the apartment construction site and pumping it out, the rainwater spilled all over the house at once, rising from the back of the residential area to the ankle level.

Although the construction company and the ward office immediately penetrated the drainage channel and built an excellent detour, it did not lead to flooding of the residential area, but the residents were all positive that rainwater would enter the house.

As the water pouring from the construction site continued toward the residential area, the residents contacted the owners of the parking vehicle to move the vehicle, and they moved the household goods to high places in advance to see if water would enter the house.

Resident A(66) said, "Apartment construction has begun, and this area, which had no problem even when there was heavy rain, is often flooded with water." I don't know.”
