A six-year-old girl died Monday, hit by a car whose driver fled as she crossed a pedestrian crossing in Aubervilliers. According to our information, a man confessed to being the driver.

A young man presented himself at the Aubervilliers police station around 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. He confessed to being the driver who fatally ran over a girl on Monday in Aubervilliers. He was taken into police custody for manslaughter aggravated by the lack of a permit, failure to comply with the obligation of caution and safety and hit and run.

According to information gathered by Europe 1, the young man born in August 2000 explained that he was driving at high speed to return home, that he would have seen the little girl but too late.

Known to the police 

Despite requests from several of his friends who were in the vehicle, he allegedly panicked and fled before abandoning the cars. He is known to the police for various offenses that are not traffic offenses.
