During the summer vacation, Jeju Island suffers from tourists traveling to Jeju without following the Corona 19 prevention policy.

It is because they are concerned that Corona19 will spread to the Jeju community.

A woman in her 70s, who has been to Jeju on a schedule of 5 days and 6 days (Gwangjin-gu, Seoul), was confirmed by corona 19 in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.

As a result of checking the closed circuit (CC) TV, Mr. A used his family's car, but it was revealed that he did not properly comply with the prevention measures, such as not wearing a mask.

Moreover, from the 11th, the third day after arriving in Jeju, even though symptoms of corona19 such as chills and coughing appeared, the trip was not stopped.

After taking the antipyretic that the family bought on the 13th, Mr. A stopped at a teahouse and restaurant without wearing a mask until he returned to Seoul through Jeju International Airport on the 14th.

In Jeju, as in the case of Mr. A, the number of tourists traveling around the city is increasing, without following the rules of quarantine.

In March and June, corona 19 was confirmed after the mother and daughter of Gangnam, Seoul, and Ansan, who had traveled to Jeju, returned to their hometowns.

Because of these, Jeju Island was turned upside down.

The reason is that the mother and daughter of Gangnam, Seoul, traveled to about 20 famous cafes and tourist attractions in Jeju Island for 4 days and 5 days without self-isolation after the daughter of an international student entered the United States.

Moreover, even when the symptoms of corona19, such as chills and muscle pain, were manifested, the statements were mixed up and raised the anxiety of the residents.

Eventually, more than 20 tourist attractions and businesses were temporarily closed and 96 were self-contained.

Residents of Ansan City visited more than 10 tourist attractions and restaurants while taking 10 tablets of antipyretic drugs over two days during a group tour of Jeju.

More than 20 places that Ansan residents visited were temporarily closed, and 57 contacts were quarantined.

Jeju Island responded strongly by filing lawsuits against them for 130 million won in damages, including quarantine costs, business losses due to business interruptions, and alimony.

People's eyes on tourists who do not follow the rules of quarantine are also cool.

“I think the local economy is difficult with Corona 19, but it feels like it will explode,” said one citizen of Jeju Domin. “I want all tourists to follow the precautionary measures, but it is not so. I am also afraid of it.”

Bae Jong-myeon, director of the Jeju infectious disease management support team, pointed out that "many of the confirmed cases in our country are asymptomatic. They are able to penetrate the quarantine network and enter Jeju during this vacation because they act like the general public without being tested."

He said, "You must wear masks and wash your hand during the trip, and follow the prevention guidelines. If you have any abnormalities in your body, you should immediately stop traveling and get tested at a nearby health center or hospital screening clinic."
