A caterpillar was found in tap water in Seo-gu, Incheon, causing a disruption to school meals that were unable to use the capital.

The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education announced on the 15th that it sent a letter to all schools in the building to ensure that the meals were heated and cooked and that the feed room filters were checked again.

Although no larvae have been found in tap water on campus, for safety reasons, foods that are washed only with water, such as raw vegetables or fruits, are excluded and only fed with a heated cooking diet.

According to the City Office of Education, 39 preschools, 39 elementary, middle, and high schools, including Wanggil-dong, Dangha-dong, Wondang-dong, Geomam-dong, and Majeon-dong in Seo-gu, where western water larvae have occurred, have stopped drinking water from the previous day.

As of this day, 22 of them provided simple meals prepared with bottled water, and 16 provided alternative meals with bread or milk.

The other one did not have a meal for one day on this day because it was difficult to secure a sudden replacement meal.

Schools in Gyeyang and Bupyeong-gu, where news of larval outbreaks have been reported through Ganghwa-gun or the Internet, where reports of tap water larvae have been received outside of the West, are served as usual.

An official from the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education said, "Yesterday, the Incheon Waterworks Project Headquarters requested to stop eating and drinking in some parts of the West." I explained.

Schools around the West, which suffered damage during the red water crisis a year ago, are experiencing great inconvenience again due to the'tap larvae'.

A middle school in Dangha-dong, Seo-gu, urgently purchased 50 bottles of 20ℓ bottle of water the day before the order to stop eating was given.

On the morning of the day, 180 bottles of 2ℓ michu hall water (bottled tap water) were also supplied from the Incheon Waterworks Headquarters.

The school believes that it will require a considerable amount to feed 1,800 students from all schools, and has already purchased 50 bottles of 20ℓ bottled water.

The principal of the school said, “There is a safety concern, and all the meals are heated and cooked, and the meal plates are also sterilized with high heat.”

Earlier, 23 complaints were raised in the Seo-gu area of Incheon City from the 9th to the morning of the previous day stating that larvae had occurred in the tap water.
