With the release of its Xbox Series X at the end of the year, the stakes are enormous. Microsoft wants to gain the upper hand over its rival, Sony, which is a big favorite after having largely dominated console sales in this generation. Microsoft is wielding several arguments to appeal to consumers, including backward compatibility, cloud gaming and its subscription gaming offer, the GamePass. Exclusives will, however, play a major role in the standoff between the two giants.
