It was later announced that Lee Dong-hyun, the chairman of the Gyeonggi-do Bucheon City Council, was handed over to the court on charges of theft.

On the morning of March 24, Lee was arrested by the police on charges of stealing 700,000 won of cash that other users forgot and didn't take at a bank teller machine in Sangdong, Bucheon.

The police used CCTV video analytics to identify and trace the identity of the criminal who stole the money and arrested the chairman.

The chairman used some of the 700,000 won stolen, and was reportedly admitted to suspicion in a police investigation.

Since the police stole the cash from the cash machine, the allegations of theft were sent to the prosecution in May with dismissal.

The chairman is now accused of stealing after another charge, and the court reportedly plans to merge the case into a trial.
