Researchers studied more than 4 thousand SARS-CoV-2-specific B blood cells taken from 12 patients who had coronavirus infection.

“As a result, 255 antibodies were reproduced in the laboratory and ... tested for their neutralizing activity against SARS-CoV-2. In total, scientists found 28 antibodies that can effectively neutralize SARS-CoV-2, ”- said in a press release from the German Center for Infection Research.

Scientists draw attention to the fact that the detected neutralizing antibodies of the coronavirus were formed by the immune system quite quickly.

“This means that it took them very little time to adapt in order to efficiently recognize and neutralize the virus,” Dr. Zener explained.

Thus, as the researchers note, this gives hope that “an active vaccine can provide quick protection in the general population.”

In late May, an immunologist, Ph.D. Nikolai Kryuchkov, in an interview with kp.ru, evaluated a new study by scientists from the USA, Germany and Israel, according to which people who have never had coronavirus have immune cells against some fragments of COVID-19.
