Mayor Eun-Sumi Seongnam, who was handed over to the court for alleged violations of the Political Fund Act, will remain in the market for the time being.

The second part of the Supreme Court destroyed the centrifugal sentence of a fine of 3 million won to the mayor, who was handed over to the court on Wednesday morning for a violation of the Political Fund Act, and sent the case back to Suwon High Court.

The court ruled that "the prosecution sentenced a sentence heavier than the first trial to a sentence higher than the first trial was illegal" even though the prosecutor's lawsuit had not been made.

The mayor of the previous trial was charged with receiving 90 vehicle conveniences from Komatrade, headed by Lee Mo, who is from an organized gangster in Seongnam, for political activities for a year from June 2016 to May 2017. It was handed over to a fine of 1.5 million won.

In response to this, the first court, the Suwon District Court, Seongnam Jiwon, sentenced a fine of 900,000 won, and the Suwon High Court sentenced a fine of 3 million won, twice the prosecution's sentence at the appeals court.

Under the current law, if an elected official is convicted of a fine of more than 1 million won for violating the Political Fund Act, he will lose his job.

In the appeals court, he was sentenced to invalidate the election, and was in danger of losing his mayoral position, but the Supreme Court decided to repeat the second trial on that day, allowing him to remain in the market for the time being.
