Park Seung-hwan must come out early in the morning and work for an average of 14 hours a day to finish delivery.

Navigate through a narrow alley, and there are about 300 items that need to be delivered every day.

[Park Seung-hwan/CJ Daehan Express Courier article: Most of them have increased by 20~30%, and some have doubled the residential area. I do 5 to 6,000 to 8,000 per month.] The

intensity of work has been much stronger since the corona crisis.

[Park Seung-hwan/CJ Daehan Express Courier article: Since I haven't seen the grocery store in the mart, a lot of heavy and big things have increased. The number has increased, but the labor intensity has become even stronger.]

Following March and May, Seo Hyung-wook, a courier worker from CJ Korea Express, died of acute myocardial infarction.

Ms. Seo, a family member and coworker, says Mr. Seo, who has recently gone to work because of midnight, has had frequent illnesses, and has recently suffered from chest pain.

[Hyung-Ju Seo/Hyung-Wook Seo, older sister: (when I was at the last job) It was too difficult and I couldn't breathe to go up three steps. If the younger brother can't solve the (quantity), the other person will share it, but the amount is still very high (I was worried.)]

The successive deaths of courier workers have nothing to do with the hiring structure that cannot be rested even if it is difficult.

Employment contracts are made with the agency, not the head office, and the number of deliveries is determined by the number of deliveries, because if you get sick, you have to pay more than the daily delivery cost.

In April, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport advised the courier companies to provide early recruitment and guarantee breaks, but there has been no significant improvement.

CJ Korea Express has issued a brief statement that it will continue to introduce a process that enables individual courier workers to manage their health and continue to work safely.
