A 23-year-old biker from Ullis, Essonne, was injured in a collision with a police car on Sunday, but his condition was stable on Monday. Two inquiries were opened: one into the circumstances of the accident, the other for refusal to comply and a motorized rodeo.

A 23-year-old young man riding a motorcycle was injured Sunday afternoon in a collision with a police car, and his condition was stable on Monday, sources close to the file said. The man is a resident of Ulis, said this source, confirming information from the Parisian.

Two open investigations

On videos shared on Twitter, he appears lying on the road, a few meters from his overturned all-terrain motorcycle and next to the damaged police car which is in the middle of the road. He was kept in the lateral safety position by the police and passers-by, before getting up. Supported by firefighters, he was transported to hospital but his life is not in danger, said the source familiar with the matter.

Two investigations have been opened, said the Evry prosecution: the first on the circumstances of the accident, the second for refusal to comply and rodeo motorized.

At the end of May, the Minister of the Interior Christophe Castaner entrusted two deputies with a mission of reflection in order to develop a new plan to fight against urban rodeos. Since a law of 2018, the urban rodeo is an offense punishable by two years in prison and a fine of 30,000 euros, which gave a legal basis to the police to intervene in this area.
