A couple in a 40s gas station who was burned with gasoline on his wife who turned the lighter on and off during a couple's fight was sentenced to imprisonment.

The Cheongju District Court sentenced 49-year-old A, who was accused of violating the Dangerous Goods Safety Management Act, to three years of probation, three years of probation, and 120 hours of community service.

Mr. A is accused of sprinkling gasoline on his wife B as a fuel while fighting a couple at a gas station in Boeun, Chungcheongbuk-do Province, around 9:40 p.m. last year.

Immediately after the gasoline was overlaid, Mr. B turned on the lighter, leading to a fire, and Mr. A immediately extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher, but Mr. B suffered a burn of 2-3 degrees throughout the body.

The judge explained, "The defendant's fault, which is a dangerous goods handler, is not light, but he puts out the fire immediately and repents of the fault and defers the execution of his brother considering the wife's treatment and care."
