Five people, who were refused entry to a McDonald's in Agde, were jailed for "meeting violence" after attacking employees who tried to enforce health and safety rules at the entrance to the restaurant, announced the prosecutor of Béziers on Saturday.

Five holidaymakers, who were refused entry to a restaurant in Agde without a mask, attacked the employees of a McDonald's. The prosecutor of Béziers announced Saturday that these were imprisoned for "violence in meeting"

Aged 18 and 19, the five men were part of a group of friends of ten people living in the Paris region who came to spend their holidays in Agde. On Tuesday evening, vacationers, who were not wearing masks, were denied entry to a McDonald's restaurant. They then attacked two employees who were trying to enforce health safety rules. "The medical examination of the two victims" retained "for each a total incapacity for work at 5 days," said the prosecutor, Raphaël Balland, in a press release.

Four hit, the fifth filmed

All members of the group were arrested by the police and placed in police custody and five of them were identified "as being directly involved in the violence committed," said the prosecutor, four for having beaten and the fifth for filming the scene.

The five young men will be tried Monday before the criminal court of Béziers in immediate appearance.
Among them, three "have been or are currently the subject of criminal proceedings not yet tried in other jurisdictions for acts of violence", according to the prosecutor.
