Her name is Marta, she is 24 years old and she is from Tarrasa (Barcelona), although she lives in the United States, where "certain reasons for life" took her and love made her stay.

Through a video broadcast on Facebook, this young Catalan woman talks about the serious accident she suffered a few days ago. The young woman is dedicated to natural cosmetics and last Thursday, June 11, due to an oversight that she prefers not to detail, she had an accident with caustic soda, a highly corrosive compound.

"It jumped into my face, mouth, nose and eyes," he explains. In a few days you have already noticed how your skin has started to recover and you are optimistic. "The only problem now is my eyes," he says. "Although I am optimistic, it is a very tough club," he says.

The young woman sends a message of hope and reflection. "We don't value what other countries don't have. In the United States, one night in the ICU costs you $ 4,000." Marta thus praises the Spanish health system, admitting that it can be improved as the coronavirus crisis has revealed.

Due to his migration situation, he says, until a few months ago he could not aspire to have health insurance. And even then, the treatment of his serious accident would not be fully covered either, although he does expect to be able to access some help.

At the end of the video he explains that he needs broadcasting to get money for his treatment. "Everything helps." For this they have created the campaign "Save my eyes". Through the GoFundMe platform, more than 200,000 euros have already been raised.
