80-year-old man who was in quarantine treatment at a university hospital in Incheon died yesterday.

The patient was confirmed to have visited Richway last month and was quarantined during self-isolation.

I had mild symptoms, such as sensation, four days before the test, but after I was hospitalized, I had X-rays, and the pneumonia had progressed considerably.

The patient died three days after confirmation.

Health authorities have admitted that there was a gap in self-isolator management.

[Kwak Jin/Director, Patient Management Team, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: We will work harder with the local

government to better monitor the worsening of clinical conditions during the quarantine period.] Currently, the corona19 fatality rate in Korea is 2.3%, but by age, 70s are 10 %, over 80 years of age exceeded 25%.

This is because elderly people with poor immunity are less likely to get pneumonia and have a greater risk of worsening than severe.

[Eom Jung-Sik/Professor of Infectious Medicine, Gil Hospital, Gachon University: In the case of high-risk contacts, I think we should consider how to ensure that medical staff can monitor closely through facility isolation.]

As the proportion of elderly patients increased significantly due to group infections of health care products, religious facilities, and nursing homes, the number of people with severe or severe illness increased to 24.
