Internet users wishing to consult a pornographic site will not go through FranceConnect to justify that they are not minors. Cédric O, Secretary of State for Digital, said Monday, June 15 during the presentation of the report of the National Council on Digital on digital identities that the government had not adopted this solution, reports Numerama, relaying information from journalist Benjamin Hue.

However, the portal to the various public services was on the list of tools that editors of pornographic sites could use to verify that a visitor was not a minor.

16 million users

Via FranceConnect, more than 16 million people can, using a username and password, access 700 online state services, such as the tax or health insurance site. But other tools must therefore be used to access pornographic sites.

The provision requiring them to check the age of Internet users was approved last week in the Senate. But the way to verify the majority of a user is therefore not known. Three solutions are envisaged in advance Numerama  : control by bank card, with a refunded micro-payment, a "porn pass" to buy in a business with age verification by means of an identity document, or a device third-party authentication like Facebook or Google. Currently, websites that apply age identification are content with a sworn statement.
