Apple is working on a fold-out iPhone, reports the usually well-entered journalist Jon Prosser on Twitter on Monday. The current prototype of the phone, according to Prosser, consists of two different screens that are attached to each other with a hinge.
Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak said in early 2019 that he would like Apple to come up with a foldable iPhone. Phone manufacturers such as Samsung and Huawei have recently launched foldable phones, Apple not yet. "They (Apple, ed.) Are not leading when it comes to foldable phones and that worries me, because I'd like one," Wozniak told Bloomberg news agency at the time .
The current prototype of the phone, according to Prosser, consists of two different screens that are attached to each other with a hinge. "Although they are two separate panels, when the screens are opened it looks fairly seamless," said Prosser.
With this prototype, Apple would go a different way than Samsung and Huawei, which released foldable phones with a flexible screen. Microsoft's folding phone, the Microsoft Surface Duo, does have two screens.
It is not known how far Apple is in the design process or when Apple plans to release the phone.
