In the northern part of Gyeonggi Province, the first suspicious cases of fruit burns occurred this year, causing an emergency with fruit farmers and authorities.

An official from Gyeonggi-do said today (8th) that two cases of apple farms in Paju-si were identified and suspected of being overgrown, and samples were collected and tested.

The test results are expected to come out on the 12th.

The quarantine authorities are encouraging them to upgrade to the boundary of the fruit and vegetable disease crisis phase and to establish a comprehensive situation room to strengthen the forecasting of fruit trees.

Hypertrophic disease is a fatal bacterial disease that occurs in fruit trees such as apples and pears. It has no cure like African swine fever.

In the northern part of Gyeonggi Province, there was a case in July of last year at the apple farm in Yeoncheon, where the first fruit trees were buried, putting both trees and fruits on the ground and closing the farm.
