With the end of confinement, and soon the beginning of the school holidays, the temptation is great for everyone to want to finally enjoy the rays of the sun. But beware of the effects of UV on your skin! In order to show the consequences of exposure to the sun without protective cream, the association Vaincre le mélanome has just created a Snapchat filter in augmented reality.

Each user of the filter can thus discover the effects of the sun on their skin without protection, but also use the app to play with the accessories offered to protect themselves from the sun (glasses, hats, creams). Internet users are also invited to share their creations on social networks with the hashtag #SunFunNoTSunburn.

Age spots, marked wrinkles, skin cancer ...

Gullied forehead, wrinkled lips, spotty cheeks ... With this Snapchat filter, everyone can realize the effect of the sun on their skin when they are not protected by an index 50+ sunscreen applied at least both hours. "Premature age spots on the skin are not necessarily linked to age and can appear even on young skin if it is too exposed," explains the association Vaincre le melanoma.

“Under the effect of the sun, the skin also loses its elasticity and sags, it is particularly visible at the level of the cheek and around the lips. Wrinkles also become very numerous and very deep all over the face and vertical furrows appear, ”adds the association. But the main risk is skin cancer which can develop under the effect of the sun, "for example a mole can develop into melanoma, a cancer which can be fatal," warns Conquer melanoma.

In France, 50 to 70% of skin cancers are thus directly linked to overexposure to UVA / UVB1 rays. Each year there are 15,000 new cases of melanoma in France, and nearly 1,600 people die from it. It is the most common cancer in young adults between 25 and 50 years old.
