A 16-year-old teenager was shot dead overnight Friday to Saturday in Epinay-sur-Seine (Seine-Saint-Denis), AFP learned from concordant sources. "We have no idea why," said a source familiar with the matter, adding that the victim was not known to the courts.

"Several gunshot wounds"

Around 3:30 am Saturday, the police intervened "for a person wounded by a gunshot" rue de Strasbourg, detailed a police source. Upon arrival, they discovered the young man who had "several gunshot wounds". Despite the intervention of the emergency services, he died on the spot.

At around midnight on Thursday, in the neighboring town of Saint-Denis, an 18-year-old man had already been shot and two others injured, without the reason being known at this stage. The judicial police of the department is in charge of the investigation opened for "voluntary homicide and attempted voluntary homicides".
