Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office of Economic Crime and Criminal Justice requested three warrants.

Jaeyong Lee, Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics, Choi Ji-sung, Former Head of Samsung Future Strategy Team, and Kim Jong-jung, former head of Samsung Unstrategy Strategy Team.

They were accused of infringing on corporate valuation intentionally in the process of Samsung C&T's merger with Cheil Industries in 2015, and fraudulently manipulated the accounting of Samsung Biologics, a subsidiary of Cheil Industries.

The prosecution particularly caught the situation that Samsung C&T deliberately dropped the company's value in order to favor Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong at the time of the merger in 2015, and the Group's control tower, Future Strategy Office, was involved in this, and it is judged that Vice Chairman Jae-yong Lee also received a report.

Jae-yong Lee, the vice chairman, recently denied the allegations after undergoing a two-year summons investigation by the prosecution.

Prosecutors have indicated on these arrest warrants alleged violations of laws related to fraudulent transactions, market manipulation, and external audits such as corporations.

Yesterday (3rd), Chairman Jae-yong Lee requested that the prosecutors' external experts deliberate on the investigation process and prosecution, and that the prosecution will proceed with the proceedings of the deliberation committee as scheduled, independent of the application for a warrant for arrest.
