• Media. From Xavier Sardà to Gemma Nierga: Enric Hernández wants a Catalan TVE to compete with TV3

Two TVE journalists have clashed at a crossroads of accusations on Twitter. They are Anna Bosch , who has worked as a correspondent in different countries, and Álvaro López de Goicoechea , who in the past was their boss in the International area of the communication group.

She shared this June 2 a thread on Twitter in which she talks about censorship. He revealed that a piece that he had prepared about Donald Trump in 2016 was not broadcast on the News: "I was going to go to Washington DC to support the coverage of the presidential election. In the newsroom I proposed a chronicle to the head of International. It seemed all right".

He explained that the news he intended to tell was that The Atlantic "broke its neutrality and asked for the vote against a candidate: Trump . He had only done it twice in a century and a half of existence." He noted that it was "one of the greatest examples of the fear that this heterodox candidate instilled". He stressed that they gave him the go-ahead.

However, his chronicle did not reach the News. It was only broadcast on Channel 24 Hours and was shared on the RTVE website. "I was awakened by the head of the International to communicate that it could not be broadcast 'because it is very against Trump,'" Bosch wrote. He also added that he replied to his superior: "I have done exactly the chronicle that I told you I was going to do and that you approved."

Álvaro López de Goicoechea's reaction

Álvaro López de Goicoechea responded on Twitter to the accusations of censorship by the correspondent, which he made look bad. The former head of TVE International recalled that he had asked Anna Bosch "balance in the reports to reflect the two souls of the United States: the liberal and progressive and the conservative who tried to get the vote of the disenchanted."

The journalist said about his colleague by profession: "You chose to tell a single point of view and that on RTVE is unjustifiable. The testimony of the director of The Atlantic was very interesting and your work would have been impeccable if you had contrasted it with that of another situated journalist in the antipodes, for example, of Fox ".

He indicated that the piece was evaluated after it was made, like any other. He noted that it is still available on the RTVE website and that it was broadcast on television. "No one, not even you, can demand exclusive presence on the Newscasts," Bosch snapped. He mentioned and praised other correspondents in those elections, Carlos Franganillo and Almudena Ariza , about whom he said: "They provided, as always with brilliance, other shortcomings."

Álvaro López de Goicoechea lashed out in his latest tweet against the journalist who accused him of censorship: "You were up to it. Anna Bosch in its purest form: quarrels because you did not want to get up early for Matinales / Desayunos or for Canal 24 Horas and election night ... That you had to sleep ... Of course, tweeting until the wee hours. "
