A shaman who killed a woman in her twenties while performing a ritual in the name of pursuing a ghost attached to her body was sentenced to death.

On June 2, the first sentence of the Jeonju District Court's Gunsan Jiwon (Deputy Judge Kim Dong-hyuk) sentenced five years in prison to a shaman A (44, South), who was charged with injuries.

The victim's father, B (65, male), who requested and neglected a shaman ritual, was sentenced to three years in prison and five years to probation.

Mr. A was accused of killing Mr. C (27, female) during a four-day ritual ceremony at an apartment in Mohyeon-dong, Iksan-si, Jeollabuk-do, and an amusement park in Seocheon-gun, Chungcheongnam-do for four days from June 15 last year.

He was found to have been subjected to harsh acts such as tying Mr. C's limbs, burning clothes and drinking smoke in the name of'must chase the ghost attached to his body'.

During this process, Mr. C was burned, but Mr. A was known to have applied'mirror injection' (the substance used to write on the amulet) to the wound rather than treatment.

He said,'You should not give the ghost rice and water.' He starved Mr. C.

Mr. C suffered a second-degree burn on his face, chest, and arms, and was unable to consume food for several days.

C, who could not stand the pain, eventually died.

The victim's father, B, was confirmed to have participated in all the rituals.

It turned out that Mr. B showed his daughter who had been suffering from mental illnesses such as depression for a long time to Mr. A and commissioned a ritual.

In the ruling, the court said, "Mr. A used an unreasonable heart from her parents who wanted to catch the straw because her daughter did not show any retardation even after long treatment. Injured victims and caused death." Even though he wasn't good at sinning, he showed an attitude of passing responsibility to his parents.”

In the beginning, he said the reason for the sentence, "A did not have the ability or qualification to cure mental illness in the first place, but he suffered extreme physical and mental pain while extinguishing himself."

The court said, "Mr. B appears to have committed a crime with wrong faith, rather than harming his children with malice or hostility." I added.
