Chae Seung-seok, former CEO of Aekyung Development, said as a witness to the trial of a plastic surgeon hospital suspected of illegally administering propofol to chaebol officials, saying, "I put everything down and regret and reflect on it."

Chairman Chae said today (2nd) at the trial of a criminal violation of drug management by the head of the hospital, Kim Jong-geon, the judge of the Seoul Central District Court's 9th Detective Jeong Jong-geon, said, "Have you sincerely responded?"

Mr. Chae said that he first visited Kim's hospital in 2014 for a treatment visit and took Propopol, and that Kim was not the first to recommend medication.

When asked if he was given a lot of money and visited the hospital when he was given Propopol, he said, "It was good to be mentally disturbed and able to relax for an hour or two."

Former CEO Chae testified that Mr. Kim recommended the so-called'live dosing' to administer propofol without any special procedure, and that it was actually done.

However, it was stated that each medication was noticed by the staff, and Kim said that one of the three sessions had agreed to undergo a real procedure.

Mr. Chae told Kim that the other chaebol met him at the hospital, and that Kim was also sensitive.

In a subsequent opposition newspaper, Mr. Kim's lawyer questioned the credibility of the former representative's statement, saying, "Isn't that what the prosecutors intended as a result of a trial or light punishment for fear of punishment?"

"I am a person, but I was scared of redemption, but it wasn't because of it," said Chae. "I was equally unfavorable to me, and the prosecution made an honest statement."

He explained that it was burdensome to leave a record in the hospital as an official about the reason for the request to fill out a nomination medical record book.

Chae was prosecuted last month on charges of illegally administering propofol, leading to trial at a court like Kim.

Prosecutors believe that former President Chae illegally administered propofol at medical institutions other than Kim's hospital.

Former CEO Chae Young-shin, the third son of Aekyung Group's chairman, resigned from the company's management after undergoing prosecution investigations last year.
