Today (29th), at the entrance of Seongju-gun, Seongju-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (THAAD, High Altitude Missile Defense System) base station, police and residents collide in the process of bringing in equipment for improving facilities.

According to the police, about 9:00 yesterday, when the movement of equipment was detected in Soseong-ri, Chojeon-myeon, where the Saad base is located, about 50 people, including residents and officials from the opposition group, flew to Jersey.

However, as more than 3,700 police officers blocked the entrance to the village, only 50 residents and anti-Sad officials gathered at the scene.

The police started broadcasting the dismissal of protesters from 3:15 am after several warning broadcasts.

Residents and others shouted for "one hour" at Jinbat Bridge, the entrance to the sad base, and protested for over an hour.

In the process, five people were injured and taken to the hospital.

The Seongju Sad Jersey Struggle Committee said, "Four women, including two grandmothers, were wounded in the ambulance with their backs and arms injured, and one man was taken to the emergency room."

When the police secured the road to the Sad Base at around 4:15 am, the Ministry of National Defense brought in equipment with six military trailers.

"The equipment brought in today was confirmed to be a missile," said Kang Hyun-wook, spokesman for the Soseong-ri General Control Room.

Seong-ju Lee, Chairman of the Seongju Saede Judiciary Struggle, said, “The Ministry of National Defense mentioned the construction for the welfare of the soldiers, but never brought in the equipment for Saad.”

The Ministry of National Defense said the ground transportation is aimed at improving the conditions of the ROK-US military service in the Holy Land and replacing some of the older equipment.

The Ministry of National Defense and the USFK have been working on improving the living environment for soldiers at the Sad Base since August last year.

In the meantime, the Ministry of National Defense explained that construction equipment and materials were transported by helicopter to minimize friction with residents, but some equipment was inevitable.
