Samsung Jae-Yong Lee, 52, vice chairman of Samsung Electronics, who was recalled to the prosecution after three days of suspicion over the merger of Samsung C & T-Cheil Industries and succession in management, returned home on the 30th after being investigated for about 17 hours and 30 minutes.

The Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office of Economic Crime and Criminal Justice (Lee Bok-hyun, Lee) sent the vice-president as an accused of charges such as misconduct and violation of the Capital Market Act at 8:20 am the day before returning it to 2 am on the same day.

Vice Chairman Lee was also investigated for 17 hours on the 26th, when he was first summoned to the prosecution for the case.

The prosecution suspects that the process from the merger of Samsung C & T-Cheil Industries in 2015 and the change of accounting of Samsung Biologics in the future has been carried out for the succession of the vice chairman.

The prosecution plans to consider whether Lee will be recalled based on the results of the investigation.

Upon completion of the vice chairman's investigation, it is also planned to decide whether or not to handle the judicial action of related persons based on the results of the investigation.
