This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a representative of the press service of the state corporation Roscosmos.

“On May 21, the French side reported that periodic alarms of the oxidizer vapor detection system were recorded at the storage site of the Frigate upper stage at the Kourou Cosmodrome in French Guiana,” he said.

The Roskosmos said that the arrival of Russian specialists in the Guiana space center is planned in the first half of June. 

It is clarified that the booster unit is stored in a room that meets all international safety standards, including environmental. The press service emphasized that the leak does not pose a danger to staff and the environment.

Earlier, Roscosmos announced an increase in the concentration of benzene on the ISS.
