Microsoft launched this Wednesday "Xbox Family Settings", a parental control application dedicated to the Xbox One, reports Clubic . Thanks to this service available on Android and iOS, parents can configure the console from a smartphone.

And the program of the American giant offers many possibilities. Parents can notably limit playing time according to a precise calendar, by choosing the time slots during which young players can use the console. It is also possible to exclude games whose age category does not correspond to the child. The “Xbox Family Settings” app finally allows you to configure the exchanges by choosing whether the child can communicate with everyone, his friends… or anyone on Xbox Live.

Children can request extra time

With this monitoring and management tool, parents can get a daily and weekly report on the activity of different children on the Xbox One, ensures Clubic . However, the youngest can also send requests to their parents. “Parents or guardians can interact directly with notifications sent by the console. So, if the child exceptionally requests an extension of his playing time, you can access his request remotely, ”says Microsoft.

Other functions will be added by the end of the year. “Xbox Family Settings” will give parents the possibility to manage the list of friends of their offspring. With each request for addition, they will receive a notification on their smartphone. The app is available in Preview version. All Android users can download it, but only 10,000 downloads are possible for owners of iOS devices.
