The remains of four teachers in the Chungnam region, who were found dead and disappeared during the trekking in Annapurna, Himalayas in January, are transported to the country on the 23rd.

On the 23rd, it is only 132 days since these teachers left Incheon Airport on January 13 for the educational service activities in Nepal and 127 days after disappearance.

The remains of the missing teachers will be moved to Korea by three local support groups and one family member from the Chungnam Office of Education.

Missing teachers were caught in an avalanche with three Nepali guides (including one from another group) as they were descending from the Himalayan Annapurna Deuraly mountain hut (3,230m above sea level) on January 17th.

As the snow melted, two bodies were found on the 25th of last month, followed by one on the 27th and the other one on the last 1st.

The recovered body was enshrined at a hospital in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, but after the border was blocked in the aftermath of Corona 19, it was difficult for domestic transportation.

The Chungnam Office of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have recently been reported to have confirmed that the Japanese government is launching a charter flight to return to their home countries, and they have been reported to have been allowed to board the families with the DOE staff in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

The DOE staff and their families will return to Incheon International Airport on the 23rd afternoon after passing through Tokyo, Japan.

Funerals are held as family heads according to the wishes of the bereaved.

An official from the Chungnam Office of Education said, "The remains of the teachers will be handed over to the bereaved family members immediately, and the staff and others will go into self-containment."
