An internet platform close to the ultra-left claimed relay antenna fires in a message published on Tuesday. Attacks of this type have multiplied in recent weeks, particularly in Isère, enough to attract the attention of the national anti-terrorist prosecutor's office and the DGSI.

A text of the ultra-left movement published Tuesday on the Internet claims attacks by relay antennas committed in recent days, through arson. Three installations were vandalized around Grenoble in Isère overnight from Sunday to Monday. Several dozen similar actions have taken place all over France for several weeks. Several investigations are open.

The text put online on a site of the ultra-left movement denounces the hiccups of the extension of mass communication networks even in remote areas, the deployment of 5G and calls for revolt. "Relay antennas are among all the intruders who disfigure the landscapes. They are used for mass communication, soon even in the most remote places", one can read in particular. This discourse is recurrent in anarchist and anti-capitalist circles, and this demand remains to be taken with caution, even if it comes from a usual platform of this movement.

Actions that thwart surveillance systems

The ultra-left is the main track of the investigators after about thirty attacks, including six in Isère, against relay antennas, but also TV and radio transmitters. Actions are always carried out in the middle of the night, most of the time to burn down the installations, and thwart the rare surveillance systems of these isolated sites.

These protest sabotages may however be the work of multiple activists; the national anti-terrorist prosecutor's office and the DGSI are closely monitoring the phenomenon, but for the time being, the investigations remain local and scattered.
